I‘m thinking about setting up a „render only“ machine that will render pre setup scenes (cycles) with automation and scripting over the network (so far the plan, not sure if it will work properly as I wish).
One of the things I‘m thinking about are the specs for the machine.
Sure, I need a good GPU, the higher tier the better. But how much does CPU and RAM actually matter for a headless rendering machine?
When researching for recommended parts it’s often mentioned that I will need a good CPU for modeling. But this part won‘t happen on this render machine. So how much of an impact has the CPU? Is more RAM better, or better timings?
Intel or AMD CPU?
For GPU I will go Nvidia for sure. But not sure which one, I‘m thinking about 4070, because of a limited budget.
Thanks in advance!
