Place publishing API failing randomly

Requests to the place publishing API (/universes/v1/{UniverseID}/places/{PlaceID}/versions?versionType=Published) are failing at random requiring multiple attempts to succeed.

Sometimes we receive “Invalid API key” and other times we receive “Request Timeout”, then sometimes it suddenly works. These are all under the same universe with an active API key with permissions to publish in that universe and it’s places.

Expected behavior

It should not fail randomly. We have several places under our universe and we publish to all simultaneously, some of these requests fail and others succeed. This does not happen normally.
