Requirements to earn the ability to post are stupid

… and are scaring away honest users, in case you didn’t realize.

I’ve been looking into Roblox scripting, reading the fourm on and off for the past weeks. Yesterday I finally stumbled into a question I couldn’t find the answer to so I decided to register and ask - as you do with any sane community - only to find out that I am not allowed to post.
A forum you can join but not post a question to - that was a first for me.

Not just that. There aren’t any hints up on the landing page either. No introductory UI to take you through the rules and essential posts. Nothing whatsoever on how to gain the ability to post, at the link in the introductory PM or anywhere. It just a forum you cannot post to, making you put your question you came with aside, and instead go on and search for an explanation in other sources.

Taking away the primary function of a forum is the dumbest way to provide safety I have seen yet. Not a captcha, not a guided learning path, not a limit on the frequency of posting or a peer reviewed first post. Just a dumb effort wall, blocking anyone regardless of their intent or age or competence.

I didn’t join to spam or troll or ask stupid questions, still it made me sit down for well over four hours scrolling through the posts I have no interest or intent to partake in, to no ones benefit. It didn’t protect the community from any harm, it didn’t increase the engagement, all it did is wasted my time, filled me with bitternes and doubt in competence of the people running this place. With all this said - feel free to change nothing if that was your intent.
