How to make a gantt chart wider in mermaid in obsidian

I'm writing a story using obsidian as a text editor.(it's great. I tried following a tutorial and now it's uploaded to git in perpetuity on all my devices) But now I need to make a timeline for personal use and the mermaid api is confusing. I need to make the x-axis wider pre-render I think(I'm not sure, i'm not a programmer). Looking at mermaid's documentation has gotten me nowhere and the all the links I've seen have been dead. please help me if you can. I really appreciate it.

I can make the gantt chart bigger, but it's literally just bigger, with no added detail so the short events are not appearing at all over the 10 year time span. I was able to make a scroll wheel, but it hasn't been useful because the width and height are locked.

The problem kind of looked like the image below yesterday, and the usability of the chart hasn't improved by much. Do you see the problem? Those boxes are lines in the middle of the graph are supposed to have boxes next to them or a line at least so that I know where they are.
